There’s this incredible website I have lurked at now and then for the past couple of years. It’s the site of Joel Henriques, an artist dad who stays at home with his kids and makes all kinds of things for and with them. Check out Made by Joel and you’ll be blown away.

Joel has a brand-new book, Made to Play. I’ve been drooling over it on Amazon, wondering if I should just plop down the cash and buy it. But, very happily, I just found out I won a copy on a blog giveaway at Whip UpPure bliss, I tell you.

(By the way, in case you haven’t seen it, Whip Up is another great crafty site well worth visiting.)

I’m super charged up about Joel’s book. If you have kids (and even if you don’t) I think you’ll like it, too. Here’s a link for a sneak peek inside.

And here are just a few of my favorite projects from his website:

Paper City Paris

Little Paper Cowboy

Bird Mobile

Hand-Embroidered Shirts

Also, Zia loves the matching games. She does the same ones over and over again. You can find one here and another here.

There are also lots of really cool coloring sheets, but Zia is not really one for coloring, and never has been. I’m tempted to print off some of the sheets for myself, but then I think, “I could draw my own coloring sheets,” which of course, I never do.

Anyway, I hope this gets you even more excited about making stuff with your kids (or by yourself!) It definitely does me…and heaven knows I’m already excited enough about making stuff. 🙂
