back home in ny: parting at oneida lake
Finally, I’m posting the last pictures of our June trip to New York, and ending the Back Home in NY series!
We siblings got together one last time the day before we headed home. We went to Verona Beach, on the shores of Oneida Lake. It was an overcast day and the water was murky (with a dead fish floating nearby), but it was still nice to be at the lake.
Here we are–almost all of us. 9 of the 11 siblings, the 2 brothers in law, and 4 of the 5 kids. From left, the adults are me, Sarah, Ramah, Kit, Rahab, Kirke, Hans, Seth, David, Jacques, and Matt. Kids from the left are Gianna, Zia, Maddie, and Cash. Missing are Jed (who stayed in South Carolina to work), Franz, Brianna, and Sawyer.
Zia and Cousin Maddie with my brother Kit.
Zia, Cash, and Maddie.
My brother Hans with sisters Rae and Sarah.
Sarah with Gianna, Kit with Zia, and Rae with Maddie.
Clockwise from lower left: Seth (the eldest), Matt (my brother-in-law), Kirke (the youngest) and David (the cutest). Seth won left-hand arm wrestling, but David won right-hand.
Our time at the lake was a good ending to our ten days in New York. In the morning Seth, Hans, Kit and Kirke drove back to South Carolina. We Coloradans drove to LaGuardia Airport in NYC, where we caught a flight back to Denver.
Here are the kids (and my reflection) at LaGuardia. Our plane was delayed by a couple of hours but we eventually made it back home.
Of all the places I have called home, there is no place like our own sweet Colorado home. Goodbye New York, hello mountains! I’m staying right here in your piney shadows for a nice, long time. 🙂
Hi honeeeee……I always love seeing pix of your wonderful family :). Luv u/ mom
Thanks Mom! Someday I know you will meet them. 🙂
It warms my heart seeing everyone (almost) together.
