{raw recipe} ginger spice drink
Saturday night after a long, hot day at the river, I wanted something cold and refreshing. We went to Vitamin Cottage, and I thought I’d grab a kombucha tea or some coconut water. Instead, I found a Bragg Ginger Spice drink made from apple cider vinegar. It was on sale for $1.75, about half the price of a kombucha…so I tried it. I was pleasantly surprised – it was actually really good!
Last night I had a hankering for that gingery drink again, minus the trip to Vitamin Cottage.
I checked the label on the bottle, which I still had. The ingredients were simple: distilled water, Bragg’s apple cider vinegar, ginger, and stevia. A quick search online found that someone else had already done the experimentation here to make the same drink at home.
It took me a batch of my own to perfect it, since I had fresh ginger instead of ground, and liquid stevia instead of powder.
Here’s my twist on the recipe:
2 cups water
1 Tablespoon Braggs apple cider vinegar
12 drops liquid stevia
About 1/4 tsp freshly grated ginger
Blend, chill, and chug!
I think this is as yummy as the store-bought version. It’s an awesome drink for digestion, because of the ginger and AC vinegar. Just be sure to get Bragg’s vinegar, because it’s raw, unfiltered, and still has the “mother”, all of which make it a much better product than, say, Walmart’s brand of apple cider vinegar.
I hope you like it as much as I do!
