popcorn balls
The corn-and-sugar-eating members of the family got an itch to make popcorn balls. David found this recipe online and off to the kitchen they went. It’s a honey/sugar/molasses-based recipe, and they all said it made a lip-smackin caramel.
I took their word for it; I’m so much better off at a good distance from both popcorn and sugar. Let’s just say when I got corn out of my diet I could finally breathe after 15 years. (And corn may not be as easy as you think to get out of your diet.)
Anyway, enough about that–the popcorn balls were lots of fun and have been made two nights in a row. Instead of making popcorn to go with a movie, we now find movies to go with the popcorn balls.
Oh yummy! Who could resist!? You have amazing willpower 🙂

I’m trying out this recipe soon! Thanks for posting the link, even though you’re not promoting it. 😉
Popcorn balls take me straight back to my youth. I haven’t had one in ages. I don’t have a corn free diet, but I probably eat less than most people. I agree with you, I don’t think a lot of people realize how much they eat of the over engineered one time veggie….I’m not sure I consider it one any more because it’s been altered so much.
I love popcorn! Organic of course. I have been wanting to make a more healthful popcorn ball. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
always love seeing a photo of my hito. hes so handsome. dad and kids look like they are enjoying every moment of their popcorn ball speerience. looks like yummy fun.
