We’ve been having so much fun that it’s hard to believe our week with Mimi is almost over. We’ve gone swimming at the pool, sunned on the porch, introduced her to the goats, walked our dirt road, cracked ourselves up at the Buffalo Bill Museum, sat under the Flatirons, made raspberry-banana-cashew ice cream, and talked forever.  She and Caleb finally got to meet!

Caleb has been in summer school during the mornings this week (poor dude), but the rest of us went to the Rocket Park in Boulder today.

That’s Cash and me on the slide. 🙂

We laughed because Mama looks like she’s waiting for a bus in these pics.  Purse, water bottle, and cell phone–in the middle of nowhere, LOL.  Cash has obviously never seen such a sight.

It’s been raining every day on the Front Range, but we got to the park early and by the time the rain came, we were ready to leave.  Zia brought her bike and had a minor crash, then bumped her head on the slide and grew a little egg.  Cash–he was just Cash.  Everyone was ready for Mimi’s proposed stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for a little sugar and caffieination.

David has been gone since Sunday morning, setting things up for U.S. Open Golf in Seattle.  We miss him, of course, but the time has gone by so much easier with Mimi here.  It has really been such a fun week, and we still have one whole day left.  We’ll  s-t-r-e-t-c-h  it out!

Happy first of June!  The kids finished school Thursday…yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

P1240884cpy

Zia set a goal to learn to ride a bike this summer–the poor thing doesn’t have much ground at home other than cliff faces, so she hasn’t ever really tried.  Thursday after she got home I took her to a paved basketball court down the road, and she finally got it!

P1240897cpy

We spent most of the weekend at parks so she could practice.  She’s a pro now.

This (little) boy has been kind of feverish, but he’s getting better.

P1250051cpy

He’s been sleeping a lot, and being out in the sun has helped.

P1240899cpy

He got a haircut last week…

P1240953cpy

and so did I.  I didn’t realize Cash switched the settings on my camera so the pictures came out dark, but here are a couple of before-the-haircut pics.

P1240946cpy

I’m planning to grow my hair out as long as it will go (which has never been very long), but I decided to get a good cut first to take off the ragged ends and make the shape better.

P1250144cpy

I got this Ouidad cut Saturday at More Than Curly salon in Denver.  The Ouidad carve-and-slice technique for curly hair was interesting, and seemed to work well on my hair.  They used about seven products on me, which contained lots of chemicals and made my hair less freestyle than I like, but the stylists were good and I like the cut.  I washed the products out, finger-styled my hair, and it feels nice and fresh and ready to grow out over the summer.

P1250182cpy

I’m trying a few things to help stimulate growth–lots of biotin, scalp massaging, onion juice on my roots (pew!)  We’ll see if any of it helps.  They told me at the salon they have a name for people like me–Naturalistas.  Which I would rather be than a Productista.  I probably sparked some lively convo there–but they don’t know the half of just how green and crunchy I can be, hehe.

P1250049cpy

Mimi comes Saturday, and we are all so excited.  I teach my first jewelry class later that day, and David leaves Sunday to work in Seattle.  The summer is stretching wide before us–and June is going to fly by, I can just tell.

Linking up with SouleMama…a moment from our week.

P1240724cpy

Greeeeeeeeeeeeeen grasssss!!!!!

Today marks SouleMama‘s last “This Moment”–which is kind of the end of an era.  I won’t be able to link up with her on Fridays anymore, but I’ll still post a wordless photo every so often–maybe not always on Fridays.  I made a lot of sweet bloggy friends through “This Moment”, and I’m so glad for that.  I really want to keep in touch with all of you–I hope you keep stopping by!

P1240201cpy

Yesterday at 8 AM we packed the kids in the car, picked up Caleb’s friend Lauryn, and headed to Commerce City for a parade.  Denver’s parade was canceled due to our crazy, rainy weather lately.

The weather was amazing all morning, and the parade lasted two hours.
