tea parties and a friend named mia
To fill in the emptiness of Caleb’s absence, we’ve been partaking in lots of fun things such as tea parties, play dates, board games, and yes, even going out for artificially flavored ice cream (gasp).
Yesterday Zia played with a new friend who just moved into the condos. The girls met on Saturday when David and Zia went to grill some meat, and the new family lives in the condo just above the grill. A meeting was inevitable, but what was a bit surprising was the little girl’s name: Mia.
Mia and Zia had a blast together (I never did get used to Zia calling, “Mia, Mia!”) and they played even into the afternoon rain. They are 6 months apart in age and obviously really hit it off.
We finally headed out to 31 Flavors, which was the only way to keep Zia from getting completely drenched.
As for our tea parties, they now come complete with bing cherries, sugar, and a family of rubber ducks as guests. We ran out of any sort of creamer (there is usually almond milk) so we substituted fruit juice instead. Hmm.
Tomorrow the boy comes home, and cupcakes will be waiting.
