swim lessons
Zia started swim lessons this week, and is loving them. We stay quite a while after the half-hour lesson is over, and then I have to drag her out, kicking and screaming. She’s not putting her head under yet, but is learning strokes and kicks and–a major breakthrough–no longer screams for a towel when a drop of water splashes in her eye.
We were in the locker room after the first lesson on Monday and Zia was standing back to back with an older lady who was opening her own locker. Cash decided to walk through the narrow space between them , and with a polite “nu-nee” (excuse me) he gave the lady a quick spank on the bottom as he passed. I could hardly stifle a laugh, but she just made a sour face and didn’t even turn around. We got out of there right quick.
Tomorrow is Zia’s birthday and I told her we could stay at the pool as long as she wants after her lesson. We would probably be there all day if it weren’t for the treasure hunt and Little Mermaid cake waiting at home.
Happy last-day-of-being-six, Baby Girl!
Hi honee…….NICE pix – brought back happy memories 4 me 🙂 luv u mom
Swimming lessons! She looks so happy in the water…..the little bit about Cash in the locker room is hysterical.
ITS A GOOD THING TO DO. IS CASH READY? I HAD PATRICIA IN WHEN SHE WAS A YEAR OLD. I DID HAVE TO LEAVE WHILE SHE WAS IN THE WATER. I COULDNT STAY. IT WAS TOO SCARY FOR ME. SHE SWIMS LIKE A FISH NOW. WELL WORTH IT.I THINK THE PART ABOUT CASH IS TYPICAL LITTLE BOY STUFF. LOL
I love the story about Cash. Made me smile. I had the pleasure and privilege of teaching a little girl to swim a few summers back. Don’t worry, she will be a dolphin in no time. Be well.
