cottonwood farms

Today we headed out to Boulder to visit Cottonwood Farms. It’s a small operation with sheep, goats, kittens, rabbits, a farm dog, calves, a miniature horse, a donkey, a straw maze, corn maze, little red wagons, and lots and lots of pumpkins. Last fall, Zia took a hay ride in Kansas City, and when we took another one today, she was literally dancing for joy. Small pleasures.

The beautiful white jacket is a present from Grandma. It instantly transforms one into  a snow bunny, an arctic fox, or a baby polar bear. The girl wears it day and night.

Even though this farm was tiny compared to the Deanna Rose Farmstead in KC, Zia milked it for all it was worth. She really enjoyed every animal and each little part, which is exactly why I posted half a million pictures.

So although it was small, it wasn’t a disappointment. Deanna Rose, after all, doesn’t have the Continental Divide as a background.

It was truly a great day.

Seeing your sweet redhead is like finding a little poppy in each picture. I love it! She’s adorable. We miss Deanna Rose too – but you’re right – having the mountains in the background would more than make up for it!

HAHA that pic of her standing next to the little girl in pink has me laughing:

Zia: Hey kid! You wanna see my pet goat? It’ll cost ya a dollar. You got a dollar? Well, DO YA??

Takes after her dadda I guess! haha
