home boy
Yesterday, with some tears and a bit of sadness, we took Caleb home to New Mexico.
Only a bit of sadness, though. Because Caleb is coming to live with us.
For some reason this boy has chosen to spend the next part of his life with his dad, his sister, and the funny red headed lady who eats seaweed and makes her own laundry soap.
Although our home is small with no TV and not much furniture, he doesn’t seem to mind. He sleeps on an air mattress in the living room and puts up with lots of loving 4-year old tortures. Yet, he wants to come back, to stay.
The magnetic force, no doubt, is the rough and ruddy man who has always loved him, always wanted him, always been his dad.
(Yeah, he’s happy.)
So Caleb is spending one last week in New Mexico with his mom, his aunties, his dogs, cats, and horses before flying back to Colorado – to us.
We’ll be here waiting for you, Caleb.
