tiny trash
I read awhile ago that Ed Begley, Jr., in his “greening” efforts, has cut down on his weekly trash so much that he can fit it into his glove compartment. Always up for a challenge, I decided to see if I could do the same.
It was surprisingly easy. I began composting for my invisible dream garden (hopefully to come at a later date) and recycled everything that could possibly be recycled. And bought a little less stuff.
Last week was the kicker. My trash bag was so tiny that the GARBAGE MEN REJECTED IT and left it sitting pitifully by the curb! Then the recycling guy came by for our nice full recycle bin. He picked up the trash bag, stared at it with a puzzled expression, and set it gently back on the curb. I just smiled smugly. What do you think of trash that fits in a soup can, Ed Begley Jr?
Hehe… maybe the whole neighborhood will catch on and start a trash/recycling revolution! Oh yeah!
Awesome!
