sweet and savory thanksgiving eats

We had such a yummy Thanksgiving feast.  A juicy turkey, gravy, red chile, stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, raw cranberry-fruit sauce, raw walnut-carrot stuffing, David’s “green jello” (watergate salad), eggnog, sparkling apple cider, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

Caleb peeled the potatoes in record time (really–5 minutes to peel that giant bag from Costco?) while David and I did the cooking and Zia was the royal taste tester.

The meal turned out so good, and we had lots of fun in the process.  Last year we had one little girl at our table; this year she was joined by her big brother and her new brother.  Caleb, Zia, and Cash filled our table with lots of noise and hungry bellies (Cash had to settle for mama’s milk, poor guy. Hopefully it was enhanced with tones of turkey and pumpkin pie.)

Working, eating, and cleaning up together, we savored the sweetness of our little homemade Thanksgiving.  Hope you had a good one, too–topped with lots of thankfulness and whipped cream!

Looks like a wonderful Thanksgiving. Yes, poor little Squirrely gazed longingly at the food… we imagined her saying “Next year, people, I better get some turkey” lol

    Mimi,
The turkey was good enough to make a vegetarian turn carnivorous, if that tells you anything. 🙂
