pirate girl and ‘sidey boy
I’m taking a short break from my NY posts to say that Zia’s tooth #5 (on the bottom) finally wiggled loose in the car on Saturday. And just in time, since Zia has recently turned Pirate. Here she is in her “ship”, waving the Jolly Roger.
We went to Nederland today for black construction paper and made a hat, which she was oh-so happy with. Sometimes I think she’s outgrown these things, and then I’m elated to find she hasn’t.
Speaking of outgrowing things (or not), a certain young man has once again taken up the lost art of Uddey Sidey. But only once (sometimes twice) a day–much less than the every-hour-or-so snack he was demanding before all this wisdom tooth complexity. I’m glad he asked for it again, after a full week off. Somehow it didn’t feel like time for him to quit yet.
Of course David felt otherwise, and starting up again brought shouts of disbelief and raucous objections from the crow’s nest (office loft) above our rocking chair. But then, he’s not the one making the milk, is he? So we politely ignored him. After all, one can’t have Uddey Sidey forever. There is a small window of time that is just right for it, and it hasn’t closed yet. Smiles.
HAH I wasn’t heckling you, I was cheering you on, both of yous ;O)
Mm. Right. 🙂
Ah, red heads and pirates. Girl after my own heart. Don’t be surprised if she never outgrows this 😉 My laundry room is still pirate themed. (BTW, National Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 18th, if you like I can start putting out some posts about past celebrations if you would like some ideas). I’m so happy that Cash is nursing again. Looks like Zia’s not the only one getting treasure 😉 Be well.
I’ve never heard of Talk Like a Pirate Day. Do you say “Arrrr, Matey!” all day? 🙂 I’d like to see how you’ve celebrated it. And yes, Cash definitely knows treasure when he sees it. 🙂
Love the pirate hat and flag…..and the pics of the Uddey Sidey kid! Miss you all! Love, Mimi
We miss you too! Cash still sings “Miss you, miss you…really wanna kiss you”. 🙁
