muddy morning, dino day, and a henna head
Yesterday morning was spent in clayful wallowing. I think a good half of the satisfaction of clay is in the squish factor…
the other half is in the creations.ย Caleb made the bird, Zia and I did the seal, whale, and bear.
As soon as David was off work, we piled into the Jeep and headed for one of our favorite spots.
The dinos seemed happy to see us, as always!
It’s really exciting how many of them were excavated locally. It makes you wonder how many fossils you’re walking over every day.
It’s really a cool museum, and we go whenever they have a free day. They have a Prehistoric section, a Space Exploration part, a North American Animal area, and a Gem and Mineral section, among others. They also have special exhibits like the Pirate one we saw last time.
On the way home, David and Caleb ran into Whole Foods for taco shells and potatoes. I stayed in the car with Sleeping Beauty.
She ties this on herself and asks if she looks like a princess. “And I don’t look like a nun, right, Mamma?” That’s the big fear.
“No, you look just like a princess.”
Here’s a rare treat for you: some pictures of Yours Truly. I brightened my hair with henna just before we left for the museum, so it is now extra red.
Please forgive the lovely armpit pictures – an even rarer treat. For some reason, my Photoshop crop tool wasn’t working this morning.
Oh well…we are mountain folk, after all.
oh my gosh! This has to be one of my favorite posts. haha! I love that she’s like “I don’t look like a nun, right?” Nope, she’s a gorgeous, smart little princess. ๐ So sweet! Also, have I ever told you that I’m secretly in love with your hair. (lol!) but really, you’re a pretty mountain woman, armpits and all (mine aren’t faring so well today).
Haha! Thanks, Jodi. That’s the first compliment I’ve ever gotten on my armpits! ๐
I like the hair! It looks like you have a few different shades of red in there:)
Fun day! And red hair is what I would want if God asked me if I wanted to re-do anything. LOVE those locks – on both Mama and daughter! ๐
