western stock show
We hit the National Western Stock Show for the second year in a row. It was such a perfect day–sunny and 63 in Denver.
Cash has a little more hair now than he did last year.
He’s also a lot more mobile.
He had his first pony ride up in the children’s area. He was very big boy and tried to pet the pony once he was on. His arm was too short, and he ended up petting the saddle horn instead–but he seemed to think that was just as good.
Zia rode a pony too, and did all sorts of other fun stuff. She climbed on the indoor playground, took a mini train ride, played a rubber ducky catching game, and petted and brushed the animals at the petting zoo.
Caleb lugged Cash around most of the time so he wouldn’t get lost in the sea of people. We got smoothies and lunch, and Zia got a new pair of sparkly cheetah-print boots and a flashing light-up cowgirl hat. She wore them to school today.
Speaking of school, Zia has settled into her routine of 2 hours of class each afternoon, 4 days a week. It’s working out great and has totally nixed her boredom. After trying out a few full 8-hour school days, she seems to really appreciate her jammy-clad relaxed mornings at home.
We headed to Shepler’s Western Wear after the show to look at boots for David. I bought Cash a little stuffed bull with his Christmas money from Grandma, and it has become his snuggly thing to hold and pet while he nurses. That works out way better than him scratching at my belly button while he has his num-nums. Before we got the bull, I just gave him whatever I could find to distract him, and the poor kid often ended up holding a sock or something.
Now we’re back to 5 degree weather and the snow is coming down. January is almost over–woo-hoo!
Hi honeee….LUV these pix – and the outfits & the hair & the hats —can’t believe a mere 4 months ago lil Cash was still being held 🙂 glad for lil Cash’s nice little soft bull 🙂 we luv u guys/ mom
