elitch gardens
Thursday we went to Elitch Gardens with David’s family. I have to preface this post by saying I’m really not an amusement park kind of girl–I would have been happy living all my life within an hour of Elitch’s and never walking through the gates.
It took everyone else wanting to go to get me there, and now I’m glad we went–it was fun and the kids loved it.Ā And now I’ve got that checked off my bucket list!Ā (Of course, it was never really on there, but I checked it off just the same, hehe.)
Here are some very adorable pics of David and Cash on the carousel.Ā Notice how the chin is held forward these days–no chance of a double chin there. š
Zia and I rode the Ferris wheel!Ā The first time for both of us.
Here we are nearing the top, all smiles…
but this is how we really felt, LOL.
Speaking of terrifying experiences, we also went on the kiddie roller coaster. Cash and I were freaked out of our minds, and the picture the roller coaster people snapped of us showed our eyes tightly closed and faces scrunched up, hehe.Ā Obviously David and Zia had a different experience.
Cash decided to get his face painted, and sat very still the whole time.
Every 30 seconds he opened one eye to ask me, “Is it done yet?”
Spidey!
An Octonauts show. Cash has been watching Octonauts on Netflix lately and really wanted to see the “real” ones.
The motorcycle ride was a big hit, and they went four times.
Cash, Zia, David and I mostly stuck together while the others went in their own groups, but Makayla and Kaylee showed up in time to try these crazy ladders with me.
They were nearly impossible to climb.Ā Zia did pretty good, but none of us actually made it to the top.Ā The ladder would flip without warning, and you were suddenly on your back laughing.
I won this lovely tail for Zia when I had a guy at one booth guess my age.Ā He was nine years off, but he guessed David’s age within nine months.
We did a ton of other rides, ate the lunch we packed, and finally met up with the rest of the family at closing time–tired and ready for bed.Ā We were glad we went, and {very} glad to go back home.Ā š
Glad to see these pics and some were pretty funny. Really, Mia? You were never on a Ferris wheel?? How did that happen? Lol.
Well…I guess my mother never took me on one! š š
Dearest Mia: Thank you so much honeeeee, We will treasure these pix and memories FOREVER…..thank you for letting us share in Caleb’s, Zia,s and Cashey’s adventures:) / luv u and DL always/mom & dad
Mom and Dad-
We’ve had so much fun since you’ve been here, and we will miss you very much! So glad you could come and spend time with us and get us out to the big city, hehe. Love you very much, safe travels manana!
Elitches is about 10-15 from our house and yet we frequent Lakeside. Even though it’s a little sketch, It’s cheaper and closer- we can ride our bikes there. They have great kiddie rides and since she does’t last more than 2 hours we haven’t wasted a ton of money.
Hi honeeeee…I had been to Elitches when I was about 8 years old and really wanted to visit there again with you two and my grandbabies. It was awesome!!! Also, I remembered walking up about 10,000 steps to Mother Cabrini’s Shrine. Although there was no way I could have walked up those steps now, it was fantastic to see —-@@
– majestic from quite a distance ….. Luv u/ mom
honeeee…..correction: there are 373 steps, not 10,000 ( like I thought when I was 8) š luv, mom
Ok, good…I was wondering about that. Everything is bigger and takes longer when you’re eight, though. š Funny we never saw the shrine on the hill until you pointed it out!
