valentine surprises
Valentine’s Day was a whole week ago, but somehow I never got around to posting about it. We came home from a trip to Boulder to find boxes waiting for us–surprises from a very sweet Dadda.
There were chocolate covered strawberries and fancy little cheesecakes.
So delectable and yummy, and we scarfed them down in record time.
There were flowers for me, with a sweet ruby colored vase. Have I ever mentioned what an awesome guy I married?
Caleb also got a box from his mom containing a cookie bouquet, which is still being nibbled away at.
My presents are a little simpler. I bought Cash and Zia each a pair of sparkly zig-zag plastic scissors, and wrapped up some peanut butter cups for Caleb (in sandwich bags with some sparkly twist ties that came with the scissors, lol).
I also gave Zia a ruby red Swarovsky heart crystal. It was such a simple little present and not very expensive, but she loves it and has worn it almost every day since.
Zia’s class had a Valentines party on Thursday, and I think she was overwhelmed with all the special little cards and things she was showered with. She had decorated a cardboard box for a Valentine catcher, and came home with it completely full. We don’t usually do much for this holiday, so it was a really fun and mostly unexpected break from the norm for all of us.
I also got a little blog love in this post from Jennifer over at the Deliberate Mom. Jennifer and I know each other only through our blogs, and she was super sweet to include me among her 14 favorite blogging friends!
So anyway, Happy Valentine’s Day–just one week late. 🙂

Awwww, how lovely! Looks like a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
How could you not be one of my favourites?! Your blog is like my second home!
Wishing you a lovely day.

Well, you can come over anytime you want and flop down on the couch. Just bring the coffee. 🙂
