shop update: 2 curious creatures
Two very interesting creatures in need of a home.
Here are a couple of one-of-a-kind soft-sculpture animals. I created these with babies in mind, since I noticed how thrilled they get when they see the strong contrast of black-and-white objects. Their hands start pumping, their feet start kicking, and their eyes get HUGE (thus the rather large eyeballs on these animals). But Zia loves these too…so I think they could really be for a child of any age. I had to make her one of her own, she became so desperate for a “giraffe”! (Or whatever the above long-necked animal is.)
This saddled steed is also a bit crazy, but at least it has a definite species…although I have never seen a horse quite like this one. As you can see, I put my black-and-white, bug-eyed philosophy to work again!
These fun-loving friends are in the shop now, and I think they just may be the beginning of a whole series of curious creatures…so keep your eyeballs peeled!
You made those they are great did you make hadassahs elephant that you gave her?
Lauren,
No I didn’t…I wish I could say I did! I loved that elephant because it looked handmade to me, though!
The b&w contrast for babies is brilliant. The tag-like manes are smart too since most little ones enjoy grabbing the tags of their toys. I love the bug-eyed animals!
Hi! I recognize the giraffe fabric! You always amaze me at how you use every little scrap! Beautiful animals. Mama
Mimi, I wondered if you’d remember the fabric from the dress you made her. I’m glad you sent me the leftovers!
