in the shop: black-capped chickadee necklace
This black-capped chickadee is inspired by those cheery little birds that brightened our New York winters when I was growing up. My grandmother used to feed them peanut butter out of her hand, and they always seemed so friendly to me.
Here in Colorado, we have mountain chickadees, which look like tiny masked bandits. They are cute in their own way, but not quite as dashing as the black-capped chickadee.
This chickadee is painted with colored India inks on a slice of aspen wood from our mountain. It is edged in iridescent gold paint and hangs on a gold-plated chain.
You can find this necklace at Poco Leon Studio!
