handmade arty goat tags
My friend Erica’s three goats were lost in the neighborhood one night. She eventually found them, but wanted to make sure they carried contact info in case it happened again. So…she asked me to make some goat ID tags. 🙂 🙂
I tailored the artwork on the tags to Erica and her goats. She’s Japanese, so I hand-lettered them in this artsy Japanese-style font.
For Nuku’a, the girly “princess” goat, I went for a Hawaiian vibe using a sparkly surf-blue background and a Japanese flower design. Cady is the other doe–a feisty and brave little goat girl. I painted hers bright red and added three cherry blossoms. For Zen, the calm and cool boy goat, I made an open “zen” circle in blue on a gold background.
The tags are worked in permanent colored inks on aspen wood slices. The backs feature a little heart over each center knot and Erica’s contact info.
Hope you goats like your tags! Y’all will be the best-dressed goats in town. 🙂
