days in new mexico
We went to New Mexico for Grandma Josie’s funeral and to visit with David’s family. I met many of his relatives for the first time. They are really kind, loving people–with a good dose of firecracker just below the surface–not so different than my own Italian relatives. š
Grandpa Roman.
From left: Rich (David’s brother), David, Grandpa Roman, David’s second cousins Chris and Carlos (brothers).
Funeral procession at the cemetery.
Cash at the reception.
David’s father with his sister Caroline. They are Spanish, but her family called her the Irish one because of her red hair and green eyes. (Aha–finally I find the hidden redhead gene that David passed on to Cash and Zia.) š
He’s up to no good…probably about to pull a piece of cake off the table.
Zia actually got sick of cake, she had so much.
And now, relaxing in the sweet, warm New Mexican sun. And enjoying the complete and total absence of snow. š
Especially since this is home in Colorado as we left it.
I was so glad to see all the pics with David’s extended family in it!! Now I can picture them all in my mind…The weather looks SO nice there….we just got a foot of snow yesterday on top of the several inches just before that…..the weather man on WSYR SOUNDS LIKE HE’S GOING A LITTLE CRAZY,”Somebody RING THE BELL it’s 9 DEGREES…WITH A WIND CHILL OF -15. hahaha!
Ohhhh…hahaha that poor weatherman needs a vacation in New Mexico! We are having a lot of fun and eating ALL the time, lol. Everywhere Zia looks there is a Zia sign…someone gave her a Zia flag pin today and she and Cash both got Zia symbol shirts. Hope you are surviving the cold–Keep Up the Good Work and Just Be Brave!
HI, It’s been to long. Cash is almost an adult! Seriously, he sure shot up fast. Zia is ever adorable as is her “smile window”. Enjoy the warmth, spring will reach us snowy denizens soon. Be well.
