backyard coyotes

This nice fluffy coyote came to pay our backyard a visit the other day. Like all the other wildlife up here, he looked healthy and well-fed. Guess the chipmunks are good eatin’.

He marked his territory (hey, that’s our yard!) and was soon joined by his mate, who was hiding here in the trees.

We’ve been hearing lots of coyotes yip-yipping in the early morning, we’ve found more moose tracks, and our little deer have been back, too. We’re never quite sure what we’re going to see when we look out the window.

Living in the wilderness is definitely turning out to be lots of fun!

We are in the ‘burbs of WAY North Denver, and we had a coyote come a callin’ the other night. Sometimes I forgot – even the more developed parts of Colorado are still in the wild.
