Jedaiah and Karen got married today! Jed is my little brother and number nine in our little team of eleven siblings. Welcome to our crazy amazing family, Karen!

Here is Jed with our sisters: Rahab, Ramah, Sarah, and Sahya (Hans’ girlfriend). Gianna and Maddie are Sarah’s and Rahab’s daughters. The ceremony took place in North Carolina and I didn’t make it, but most of the rest of the family did.

The boys: Matt (Rahab’s husband), Kirke, Jed, Hans, and Seth. Missing are Jacques, Franz, and Kit. Papa couldn’t make it either, and we all missed him. (Me too–just looking at the pics.) šŸ™

thanksgiving in kansas city

I know it’s late for this, but I wanted to post some pics from our Thanksgiving trip to Kansas City. We went to Cindy’s house and hung out with her, our friends Darci and Chase and their four kids (and one on the way!), Crystal and her friend Malik, and Will and his friend Joanna. We had so much fun and laughed and talked waaaay too much during those four days. šŸ™‚

We made lots of food, including this “turkey” platter made by Darci and me. Chase and David fixed everything they could fix, us girls cooked and washed a ton of dishes, the lovebirds sat entranced, and all the kids had a blast together.

Friday we hung out again, and Saturday we took pictures together outside with Cindy before heading home. It’s the last gathering (that we know of) at her house before she moves to Florida next year. We’ve all known Cindy before any of us were married or had kids, and we’ve had so many good times at her place that it really feels like the end of an era.

I’m slightly ashamed to say I made this chocolate cream pie out of a Jello pudding box. šŸ˜‰

a dozen years

Here we are, a dozen years down the road. A little older, a little wiser, a little better at loving each other. Through all the highs and lows, we’ve made our way here, hand in hand. I want to say thank you to that man in the black hat, for these twelve years of my life. Things have been rough and things have been smooth, but you’ve got me better than ever. You’ve cared to learn who I am, what hurts me, what makes me sparkle, and you’ve tuned yourself to the nuances of my heart. You love me so well. Just for the record, I still do.

Bull moose, made with clay and painted with oils. 1 1/2″ long. I created this for my friend Cindy, who loves moose.
