whistling mountain melodies

Hey there! Has it really been almost 3 weeks since I posted last? Hmm. Awfully sorry, but I do have a great excuse.

And what is that excuse? Is it the final but fading glorious harvest of my once-orderly-garden-turned-jungle?

No, guess again.

Perhaps the many pots of “soup” that Zia has been laboring over, adding flowers, veggies, stones, leaves and stirring with a long stick?

No, although the soups have been delicious. Especially her famous Floating Cicada Skin variety (not shown, out of gentle consideration for our readers).

Surely it’s the children’s sale where we found vintage puzzles…

…and the prized Cheetah Skin Jacket. (It instantly turns you into a baby cheetah when you put it on).

Wrong.

Nor was it the 2+ yard sales where we sold most of our stuff, nor the fact that Zia has completely weaned, nor that I’ve sewn a few new clothes for the Kid and myself and jumped back into knitting after 20 years off the needles.

No, I have awesomely awesome news.

And here it is: Poco Mountain Girl, El Dorado, and the Kansas City Kid are going west.

Heading for the hills.

Moving to the…MOUNTAINS!

Yes, that’s right. I said MOVING. To the mountains.

People of Kansas City, our hats are off to you. Hold down the fort, be faithful, fight well. We’ll see you on the other side of the mountains, you know, over there where the rainbow meets the earth.

Colorado, here we come.

Me-oh-my! (that’s kind of a weird phrase, eh?)
You have been busy! I’m looking forward to mountain time posts. To see what you and your family are up to in the majestic mountains. A truely timely move, also. I heard the aspens are soon to be adorning themselves with their fall wardrobe. (the mailman who delivers to my work said this weekend will be a busy aspen viewing weekend. Apparently he knows this because he goes out there every year around this time.) Anyway…Be blessed with happy, safe moving!
