goin’ barefoot

I have a new pair of shoes! They are Merrell Barefoot Pace gloves, and I love them.

I tend to wear the same pair of shoes daily for just about every occasion until I wear them out. Because I do a lot of outdoor walking on fairly rough ground, I always get hiking shoes or boots, and it gets a little clunky wearing them around the house (my feet get cold on wood floors, so I always wear shoes in the house). Since I got these, I’ve worn them around the house, out to hang clothes, and to town. I still have hiking shoes for taking hikes.

The Barefoot shoes really are almost like going barefoot, except your foot is snugly protected. They are super light, and allow your foot to develop strength and flexibility. I wasn’t sure how they would work out, but I’m super happy with them.

One of the reasons I made the leap to buy these (they’re not cheap) is because I got them at the REI in Boulder. REI has an awesome return policy: you can return stuff anytime, for any reason. So if I’m not happy with these at any point in the future, I can just return them, no questions asked. Sweet, huh?

Of course, the other reason I dared to buy them was because I have an awesome husband who actually bought them for me (and would buy me anything in his means if I wanted it).

Do you have any type of shoe you really like? (I’m talking comfort, here, not style. For me, shoes are all about comfort. Style? I could care less.)

I’d love to hear about your favorite shoes. Besides these, my regular favorites are Keens.

And now, I’m off on another Barefoot adventure. Have a great day!
