Zia and I took an art class this summer with this year’s artists in residence at the library. She learned to work with pastels, and made this red fox on velvet paper. Nice, right? I used the class time to do an oil painting of a Dall sheep, which I’ll post when it’s finished.

Happy birthday to our baby girl–who somehow, someway, became a nine-year-old today. We went to White Fence Farm in Lakewood for lunch.
